Animal Abuse Poem
There sits a cat,
His paws on the curb,
Not a cat on a mat,
For he has no home,
And there lies a lion,
Up to his belly in water,
His mane in rags,
Dead eyes thereafter,
And there dances a bear,
With chains on his legs,
A ring in his nose,
And a stick in his ribs,
And there stands a dog,
His ribs broken,
His flesh torn,
A rope around his jaws,
And all lay down,
And closed their eyes,
And there lies the animals,
With no soul behind their eyes.
